In the interests of safety while the transition plan is being executed, MantaDAO should update the voting params to 40% quorum and 85% threshold, to help mitigate the risk of 51% attack while we transition to DAODAO which will come with improved security features. Based on recent voting numbers (post MIP-229), a quorum at 40% shouldn’t be a problem to reach, allowing governance to continue to function. Except for the controversial MIP-229, all proposals have historically passed with >85% consensus, so this shouldn’t be an issue either, while making the cost of an attack materially higher for a malicious actor.
This is a text proposal to ratify this plan. The actual voting parameters cannot be changed via governance vote; it will require a contract migration via Kujira governance.
